Ward 8 CAN meeting, 7 pm Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Twin Forks Playground
You are invited to the Ward 8 Community Action Network’s meeting on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at 7 p.m. at the Twin Forks Playground building (corner of Gary Street and Madison Avenue, Greater Sudbury).
Our guest is a representative from the Ministry of Natural Resources who will be available to answer questions that you may have about bears, or any other issues that relate to the Ministry.
The agenda includes our regular update from the Greater Sudbury Police Service, and updates on our 2015 CAN projects.
Al Sizer, our Ward Councillor, will be there with an update on the happenings at Tom Davies Square.
And as always, you can express any concerns that you may have and we’ll ensure that those concerns are communicated to the appropriate city department.
Come find out about the projects we ran this year – our Community Gardens and New Sudbury Days and find out how you can help out next year. We’ll also provide an update on the Keep Seniors Warm project, which is being run by the Donovan Elm West CAN.
We’ll also provide some information on a new initiative that is being worked on by the Ward 12 and Ward 8 CANs: a Community Centre in the old St. Andrew’s school on Holland Avenue.
And we’d like to get your input on how we can expand our community engagement in Ward 8. We’ll be embarking on a project that will seek to connect with more residents, local groups and organizations, as well as business in Ward 8. We’d also like feedback on having a visioning session to confirm our directions for the next few years.
Don’t forget to bring your ideas if there’s a project you want to see happen in Ward 8!
