Ward 8 CAN meeting, 7 pm Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Twin Forks Playground
Last meeting before our summer break!
You are invited to the Ward 8 Community Action Network’s meeting on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Twin Forks Playground building (corner of Gary Street and Madison Avenue, Greater Sudbury).
Attending CAN meetings gives you an opportunity to voice your concerns, suggest community enhancements, and meet your neighbours!
We have two guests presenting at the meeting:
- United Way – Melina Whissell: presenting on the 211 system and the Home Weatherization Program
- City of Greater Sudbury – Darlene Barker: presenting on a new consolidated noise bylaw for the city
Also on the agenda is our regular update from the Greater Sudbury Police Services if they are able to attend and councillor updates from Al Sizer.
You’ll also get an opportunity to see how our community garden has grown, with the help of students from St. Dominique and Cyril Varney, who planted and nurtured seeds for us this year and students from Lo-Ellen High School who retrofitted 4 additional garden beds for us!
We’re always looking for additional leaders and project team volunteers. Let us know what YOU’d like to do in YOUR neighbourhood! Come to the meeting, post on our Facebook page, or email us with your ideas!
Have a safe summer! Remember to walk, bike and drive safely. Slow down, always be aware and be visible!
