Twin Forks Community Garden Spring Cleanup
Calling all gardeners in Ward 8! We’re doing a spring cleanup on April 29, 2:00 pm at our Twin Forks community garden. We need some help with putting away the winter snow fence, turning over the garden beds, planting garlic, pruning our fruit trees, and starting to build additional ground beds. We’ll also get a start on building a new spiral herb garden!
We’re already been busy planting vegetable and flower seeds with local primary schools for our local community gardens at Twin Forks and Westmount parks. Volunteers are doing workshops with children at École St. Dominique, École Jean-Etienne-Blais, Holy Trinity School, Cyril Varney School, Westmount School, and the New Sudbury Best Start Hub. In this project, children plant seeds and nurture the plants in their classrooms, and then come to plant them at the community gardens in June. This project is generously supported by the Sudbury Community Garden Network and the Healthy Kids Community Challenge.
Come support a great Ward 8 community project!
