Twin Forks playground offers a number of great recreational opportunities for residents in the neighbourhood, including:
- Two sets of playground equipment
- Soccer fields for youth soccer
- A baseball diamond
- Tennis courts
- A community garden
- A field house with kitchen and washroom facilities
- And coming soon, an eco-friendly splash pad!
The Ward 8 CAN is currently collaborating with the Twin Forks Playground Neighbourhood Association to revitalize the park and its buildings.
2014 Enhancements:
- A new sign at the entrance of the park
- New and brighter lights in the parking lot and around the fieldhouse
- New playground equipment (additional equipment still to be installed in spring 2016)
- New ramp railing
- Fieldhouse refurbishments: new bathrooms, new kitchen, new paint, removal of old bulkheads and separators
- Start of a community garden at the entrance of the park in partnership with
2015 Enhancements:
- Additional fieldhouse refurbishments
- Completion of new playground equipment
- Expansion of the community garden, including raised beds, a storage shed and 3 water barrels
- New flower garden at the foot of the ramp going to the fieldhouse
2016 Enhancements:
- Additional raised self watering beds at the community garden
- A picnic table at the community garden
- A Creator Turtle Garden at the community garden
- Additional refurbishments at the fieldhouse
- Fruit trees in the community garden
- A tree guild in the community garden
- 3 wooden compost bins at the community garden
- Sunflower and milkweed patches at the community garden
2017 Enhancements:
- Additional lighting for the stairs to the fieldhouse
- Picnic tables at the fieldhouse
- More fruit trees at the community garden
- Ground beds at the community garden; a culvert and ground bridge to access the area
- Municipal water at the community garden
- A spiral herb garden at the community garden
2018 Enhancements:
- No enhancements in 2018
