Join us Wednesday, October 7, 6:30 to 9:00 pm at Lasalle Secondary School (cafeteria) to listen to candidate priorities and hear their responses to your questions! Submit your questions ahead of time by sending filling in the form at ward8sudbury.ca/questions. One question per form please. Submissions are accepted until noon, Tuesday, October 6.

Questions should be focused on matters relevant to Ward 8 or the City of Greater Sudbury. Questions will not be provided to candidates in advance.

All of the candidates have accepted our invitation to attend:
Karanbir Badhesha
George Lalonde
Carla Ross-Arsenault
Shawn Rossi
Natalie Tessier

For residents who are unable to attend in person, Eastlink will broadcast the meeting and make the recording available on its YouTube channel the following day.

Meeting format

The Ward 8 CAN is hosting the meeting as a neutral, non-partisan community forum. Our role is to facilitate an opportunity for residents to hear from all registered candidates. The CAN does not endorse or oppose any candidate.

• The evening will begin with an opportunity for each candidate to introduce themselves and provide opening remarks.
• Candidates will then be asked to identify their top three priorities for Ward 8 and their top three priorities for the City of Greater Sudbury.
• The meeting will then move to questions submitted by the community. The organizing team will review all submissions and consolidate similar questions so that common concerns can be addressed efficiently.

To provide a balanced format, the order in which candidates respond will rotate throughout the evening, ensuring that no candidate is consistently first or last to answer.

The meeting will follow a question-and-answer format. Audience members will not ask questions from the floor; all resident questions must be submitted in advance.

The meeting will be moderated by Markus Schawbe from CBC Sudbury.
