DESCRIPTION:Next Meeting - Wednesday\, January 17\, 2024\, 7:00 pm\nTwin Forks Playground - 1475 Gary Avenue\nIn-person planning meeting\nOur CAN is looking forward to working on activities and events in 2024\, and our first meeting this year will be an in-person meeting only at Twin Forks Park on January 17 at 7 pm to review 2023 activities and plan 2024 activities. \nEvery year\, all CANs must provide a financial reconciliation of the yearly $2\,500 operating grant we receive from the City of Greater Sudbury\, plus a report on the previous year's activities and a plan for next year's activities. This is a requirement for receiving the grant\, and this information must be submitted by January 31. \nOn January 17\, we will review the information that is currently being prepared by the CAN Chair for submission and will approve the contents. \nAll draft reports for the meeting will be available by 4 pm the day of the meeting in the following Google folder. \n\n\n			\n		\n			\n			Meeting Documents		\n			\n	\n\n\n	\nInformation about CAN meetings\nCAN meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of every month with the exception of December\, July and August. As we transition post Covid-19\, we are meeting both in person and via Zoom depending on the requirements of the meeting. Generally\, all meetings are 90 minutes in length. Meetings can be general update meetings\, planning meetings\, or special meetings targeting a particular project or issue. \nDepending on availability\, our Greater Sudbury Policy Service liaison usually provides an update for Ward 8 at our general meetings. Some of our meetings have an invited guest that presents a specific topic that has been identified as important to our community. Depending on the topic\, the presentation/discussion typically last from 30 minutes to an hour.
